About Us

Melissa Kendall lives at Littleton Mill with her husband Richard and son Curtis. They have been renovating the Mill into a sustainable retreat centre and home for the past two years. Melissa is also co founder of Jiva Healing (www.jivahealing.com) which offers a range of health and wellbeing retreats around the world. Previously an investment analyst on socially responsible funds, Melissa spent years studying the social and environmental impacts and practices of large food, chemicals and pharmaceutical companies. This understanding of the harmful effects of big business on the environment and our health has led her to develop a personal passion for yoga, wellbeing and finding more sustainable ways of living.
Teresa Montano was a professional dancer and rehearsal director for 20 years and began practicing yoga in the late 1990’s. She has studied under the guidance of John and Lucy Scott, Danny Paradise, Liz Connolly and Pattabhi Jois. Now as a fully certified teacher (Yoga Alliance/Sivananda) she continues to explore yoga developing new practices and learning from new teachers. Teresa is also a fully qualified massage therapist and has most recently completed trainings in Thai Yoga Massage and Aquatic Body Work (Watsu). As well as teaching yoga she also offers Thai Massage at our retreats and Aquatic Body Work wherever there is access to a hot water pool. Teresa both lives and works at Littleton Mill where she also offers weekly yoga classes to people living locally.

These courses are designed to heal and rejuvenate both body and mind, and support each person's individuality to facilitate health and well-being. She has been running the Jiva Healing retreats for the past 4 years, with annual retreats in France, England, Turkey and India.
