| 3 Day Detox Retreat ,
27- 30 May 2010
This program involves drinking fresh juices and other fluids, and eating a light vegan diet designed to provide optimum nutrition with food that is light and easy on the digestive system. The weekend assists you in kick starting healthier habits by giving your body a break from processed foods, alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, meat, dairy, wheat and sugar. Instead the diet is focused on maximising your intake of fresh organic fruit and vegetables that help the body to cleanse.
Yoga is a central element in this retreat as it is extremely effective in helping the body to detoxify. It is perhaps the only form of activity that massages all the internal glands and organs of the body. By gently stretching muscles and joints as well as massaging the various organs, yoga ensures the optimum blood supply to various parts of the body. Yoga also helps to harmonise the mind with the body to relax and rejuvenate the mental and emotional systems of the body as well as the physical.
The program involves two daily yoga classes, and kitchen workshops with the opportunity to learn about how to prepare delicious and healthy dishes. This retreat also includes classes on nutrition and healthy eating, environmentally sustainable living, meditation and happiness. Our highly qualified massage therapists offer a range of treatments including reflexology, Thai massage, sports and remedial massage, and facials.

Why detox?
Most people subject their bodies to harmful lifestyles and diets that inhibit the body’s ability to cleanse and heal itself. Eating a poor diet of processed foods clogs up the digestive system with waste materials and prevents our bodies from absorbing vital nutrients, inhibits the immune system and, over time, can lead to health problems. To counteract this we need to eat less of things that are bad for us, and more of the good things. Making simple changes to your diet will aid your digestion, give you more energy and help ward off disease and weight gain.
